Happy Sunday!

I'm determined to be a happy girl! Before I got out of bed this morning I thought of all the things in life that I'm happy and grateful for. I'm still feeling blue, but I'm resolving to keep thinking positively. Isn't that what the saying "Fake it, til you make it!" means?! I'm not always the best at it, but I'm just going to keep trying!

I'm happy to be winding down my work morning. It has been a bit hectic at the Inn here today! In a few minutes I'll be heading towards a much needed counseling session. And if this pretty weather holds up, I'll be heading to the beach after that. I'm really looking forward to that since it's been weeks since my toes have been in the ocean!!!

Happy Sunday all!!!!

Such a Sweet Day

Sky and I had a much needed day off yesterday, just the two of us. We took the boat out to splash and play and snorkel for a bit. It was a beautiful day out and we had such a sweet time. I'm going to miss my big lovey goofball so much.

Easier Said Than Done

Well Sunday happens to be my last day of work. Remember that awesome plan of mine to spend the last week beaching and snorkeling and hiking and boat tripping? Yeah, that's not going to happen. We got some pretty icky weather that tore up the island on Monday night. And it's still hitting the island pretty hard. We have flash flood warnings just about every night. There's flooding, roads have been ruined, we've had rock slides, and beaches are washed away. The island is a wreck right now! Unfortunately it looks like my last few days here will be spent inside:( Oh well! The joys of living in the Caribbean during hurricane season I guess! Below are a couple of videos that Sky shot around the island. Not too pretty...

We're Engaged!!!!

Sky and I are engaged!! We both knew it was coming but where and when he did it was such a surprise!!!! He asked me to go for a walk with him so we took a trail that runs behind his parents' house to Willow Creek. Once we got there Sky asked me to help him look for heart shaped rocks (something we've done since we first met) by the river. So I was wandering around in a circle looking for rocks to take home. Sky sort of nudged me in a specific direction and told me to look "over there". Once I walked in the direction he pointed he asked me if I had found anything. Sitting on a big rock was a small, carved ivory box. I think that's when I realized what was happening so I started freaking out. I picked it up and opened it and when I turned around Sky was on his knee!! I laughed hysterically while Sky asked me to spend the rest of my life with him!!! I, of course, said yes. Then I cried!! It was a very sweet moment. It is definitely something I will remember for the rest of my life!!!!

Sky and I right before our walk...

I'm excited to see where we're heading!!

The rock I found my ring on...

It was a special moment for us and this is definitely a story I look forward to telling our children one day!!!!
