Eating
Do you ever just get tired of eating? That's where I am right now. I hate thinking about what to eat. I hate the dilemma of "What's for dinner?" every night. I'm tired of food! Tired of looking at it, thinking about it, eating it!!! I'm sick of food!!!

Friday Mind Dump
* The weather has been yucky the last few days. That wouldn't be so bad if I didn't drive a convertible that currently has no top on it. I've taken to driving around wearing a bright yellow rain slicker! I've gotten some looks but it keeps me dry!
* Very suddenly I am missing Atlanta. A bunch. Could it have something to do with a text convo I had with a friend recently? Why, yes, I think so. Don't you know how easily I am swayed by now? Hmmph. Besides, my love for Atlanta has always been the deepest at spring time. Life in Atlanta in Spring is perfection.
* The bugs have found me again. I have countless no-see-um bites. Boo. But I have rediscovered Skin So Soft, which Granny used to douse on us as children. It keeps the bugs away, but it smells funny! Brings back good memories though.
* I spent $67 at the grocery store yesterday. Here's what I left with: a mini watermelon, a pound of carrots, one squash, one pound of grapes, a bag of pretzels, a pound of chicken, a pound of ground beef, a bag of black beans and rice, a peach cobbler and a bag of ice. How far can $67 get you?
* I'm going through tv withdrawals!!!! The VI went digital so our tv is out until we get cable. And with everything I've heard about the local cable company's customer service, it will be some time before that happens.
* I'm very much looking forward to my next counseling session. It's not for another two weeks, so I'm trying to be patient!
* I'm finally reading Eat, Pray, Love and I can't put it down!! I don't know why it took me so long to start it, but now that I have I am in love with the story and her writing style. I'm even more in love with the book than I am with the movie!
* I've been obsessed with the mini series "Rome" lately. It is extremely graphic and violent, but also very interesting and kind of sexy!
* My intense need to have a dog has passed. Was it a phase or a genuine wish? I'm not sure. We'll see!
* I have put every good vibe I can think of out into the Universe to help me get this job I want so badly! Maybe if you send good vibes too it'll happen for me?! :)
I hope everyone has something wonderful planned for this weekend. I'll be working away! Happy Friday!!!!

Island = Fatty
After my miscarriage I lost about 15 pounds between my depression medication and general lack of appetite. But now I'm used to my meds, so my appetite is back. And since moving back to St John I have put 10 pounds back on. Not cool.
Living on this island makes me such a fatty. And here's why:
- I drink waaaay more here than I did in the states. Can you say "empty calories"?! Unfortunately liquor is one of the only inexpensive things on the island. Sometimes I skip dinner and have a Sex on the Beach instead...
- It's too hot, and let's be honest, I'm too lazy, to go for a run.
- Why don't I just join a gym you ask? Well because they are hellishly expensive here. There's one gym on the island and it costs $150 a month to be a member, plus a $500 yearly fee. No thank you.
- Fresh and healthy produce is hard to come by. And when I can find it, it is also hellishly expensive. $10 for a pound of strawberries anyone? No? Me either. And a lot of other fruits, veggies, lean cuts of meat and fish are just as expensive. Salmon is $20 by the pound here. Outrageous.
- All of that plus the fact that I have a chef as a boyfriend, who cooks food full of fat and butter and cholesterol and salt and other yummy goodness.
The good news is that 10 pounds isn't the end of the world. And even when I feel like a fatty, I've never been bigger than a size 8. So I do take some comfort in the fact that I have awesome genes. Thanks mom! But I do need to figure something out, and soon. Because another 10 pounds is not acceptable!

Food Glorious Food
I plan on gaining at least 10 lbs on my return home. For the first month I'm back I plan on eating my way through Atlanta. I dream about all of the food and restaurants I haven't tasted or been to in 10 months. In no particular order, I can't wait to eat:
- Anything from Chick Fil-A
- Salad and bread sticks from Olive Garden
- Pasta from Figo
- Pizza from Papa John's
- Anything from Taco Bell
- A hot dog and fries from Vortex
- Nachos from Willy's
- Subs from Publix
- Cheese dip and chimichangas from Los Bravos AND La Parilla
- Breakfast from Flying Biscuit, IHOP, Java Jive and Thumbs Up
I would go on but thinking about all of this food is torturing me!! Only one week to go...
